Welcome back again to the ThreeSpires Physiotherapy blog, a few posts ago I began looking at our home visit physiotherapy service in Rugeley and areas such as Colton, Little Haywood, Armitage and Handsacre but as per usual I then got distracted and ended up looking at various physiotherapy topics. This time I thought we should continue looking at our services and what we offer to patients in Rugeley.
Previously,in one of our physiotherapy blogs, I have discussed the fact that there is little benefit to a patient attending a physiotherapy clinic rather than having one of our physios come out and see them at home because by far the most important component of any physiotherapy practice is the physiotherapists themselves! At ThreeSpires Physiotherapy we ensure that all of our physiotherapists are experienced, professional and personable and able to provide an outstanding srvcie to patients. A fact that is borne out by our many testimonials available here on our website, on our facebook page or on our google plus page.
So, lets have a look at the actual pros for someone in Rugeley of having one of our physiotherapists. Firstly, many of the patients that our physiotherapists see in Rugeley and surrounding areas such as Handsacre have reduced mobility and find it very extremely hard if not actually impossible to get out to a physiotherapy clinic. Our physios help many patients recovering from joint replacements and these patients find mobilising very difficult and painful and benefit enormously from having a physio come out to them.
Clearly for patients in Rugeley with mobility probems our home visit physiotherapy service in Rugeley, Handsacer, Armitage and Little Haywood provides an ideal solution but are there actual clinical benefits? Is there an actual benefit in terms of results to having a physio see you in your environment at home? Well, the answer is yes!!
When working as a physiotherapist if you are operating in a physiotherapy clinic then when you are assessing patients you have to rely upon the patient describing the situation at home rather than being able to see it for yourself. As a physio myself, being able to see where a patient will be doing their rehab and exercises offer enormous advantages and avoids issues later on when the patient confesses that they actually can't do that particular exercise at home! As the vast majority of patients are likely to be doing any exercise program at home (okay some will use a gym but these are by far the minority) being able to see a patient's home set up and tailor exercises to match what they can actually do at home is an enormous advantage.
Lastly, some of our patients are in care homes in the Rugeley area (either for respite or as a permanent residence) and we have often been contacted by a family member. Having a physiotherapist go out to meet them at the care home, talk to staff, assess the patient at the home and give them exercises and help there without the need to travel to a physical clinic is an enormous advantage.
In the next blog post we shall have a bit more of a detailed look at our physiotherapy service and how it helps our patients in care homes in Rugeley and surrounding areas such as Colton, Handsacre, Little Haywood and Armitage
