Hello and once again welcome back to the ThreeSpires Physiotherapy blog. We have been covering a wide range of topics recently but I thought it would be nice to continue looking at Walsall and the services that our physiotherapists provide in Walsall and areas such as Bloxwich, Pelsall and Rushall. This time we will have a look at how our physiotherapists help patients with Multiple Sclerosis in Walsall.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a relatively common neurological disease that has a wide range of effects from mild weakness and loss of co-ordination to complete immobility. For anyone with MS It is important to be able to access physiotherapy easily and quickly. Obviously this is where our home visit physiotherapy service in Walsall can really make a difference.
Multiple Sclerosis is the process of progressive destruction and damage ofthe insulating substance around nerves in the brain and spinal cord - myelin. The damage and destruction of this insulating substance affects nerve signal transmission causing a wide range of problems. Patients with MS may experience difficulties walking, loss of muscle strength and extreme fatigue. Symptoms usually follow a pattern of worsening and improving (relapsing and remitting).
All of our physiotherapists are all experienced at working with patients with Multiple Sclerosis and are able to provide a physiotherapy service at home in Walsall to anyone who has Multiple Sclerosis. If you or anyone you know has Multiple Sclerosis and lives in Walsall then please get in touch to have a chat about how we might be able to help with recovery and physiotherapy.
