For anyone working at a desk a lot or anyone whose job involves a large amount of driving then it is very likely that they will at some point have experenced severe neck pain. Sometimes it comes and goes and only lasts for a day or so but at other times it can be persistent and cause time off work. Our home visit physiotherapists in Cannock are able to assess the underlying cause of neck problems and provide effective treatment. Often neck pain is simply at the neck itself and the upper shoulder area (trapezius muscle) but sometimes it can cause pain and into the fingers or hand (this happens when a nerve is trapped). Neck pain can have many causes and in order to best manage and reduce the problems asssociated with these causes it is best to have a full assessment with a chartered and experienced physiotherapist. They will be able to assess the range and qualtity of movement in your neck, shoulders and upper back, examine your posture and determine what is causing your neck pain. Once the physiotherapist has completed a full assessment and has a diagnosis they will then be able to provide effective treatment which will include soft tissue massage, spinal manipulation, stretches, exercises and postural advice in order to alleviate your pain.
