Happy New Year and welcome back to the ThreeSpires Physiotherapy blog, as always at this time of year lots of you will be making New Year's resolutions. Personally I have a long list including the pretty standard fare of cutting back on bad food, getting fitter and generally losing the extra pounds that I gained over Xmas. However of more relevance to past readers of this blog is the fact I have resolved to try to blog at least once every two weeks. Now if you have visited this physiotherapy blog before then you could be forgiven for thinking I have said this before and have failed before! Well, that is true but the last 3 months have been incredibly busy here at ThreeSpires physiotherapy and I have found it very difficult to find enough time to blog and to blog well. So, as a bit of start I thought it might be nice to have a general review of what has happened over the last 12 months at ThreeSpires physiotherapy and also one key event for me personally.
1. Growth - our home visit physiotherapy service in Lichfield and surrounding areas has gone from strength to strength. Patient numbers have been steadily growing through great recommendations from patients, testimonials and general good word of mouth, plus a strong and developing internet presence. Overall patient numbers for our physiotherapy service have grown virtually every month for the last year which is a fantastic tribute to the service we offer and shows that there is real demand out there for our home visit physiotherapy service both in the local Lichfield area and further afield.
2. Web-Site Redesign - as part of our strategy of trying to gain a good internet presence the web site was redesigned by a local business called eWebz http://www.ewebz.co.uk/ who, although I am biased, I think did a great job and certainly the feedback we have had from patients confirms this. The most important thing for me is that it has enabled us to communicate more effectively with potential patients and much more clearly display the fantastic physiotherapy service that we offer in Lichfield and Staffordshire.
3. Social Media - over the last year ThreeSpires Physiotherapy has slowly moved into the world of social media as a way of further improving our communication with both current patients and potential patients. We now have a facebook page with regular updates https://www.facebook.com/lichfieldphysio/timeline and also a twitter account http://www.twitter.com/lichfieldphysio with currently 1,000 followers. These two social media platforms (especially twitter) have allowed us to communicate much more effectively with our more tech savvy patients.
4. Expansion - as mentioned earlier 2014 has been a year of real growth for ThreeSpires physiotherapy and as such we decided to start a dedicated web site for Sutton Coldfield to attempt to serve our physiotherapy patients in that area better. The site www.physiotherapyinsuttoncoldfield.co.uk has totally new content specifically targeted at our patients in Sutton Coldfield and has been a fantastic success.
5. New Services - this year we have been able to offer a whole range of new services to our patients in Lichfield and surrounding areas. We now offer a range of powerful techniques to reduce pain: acupuncture, electro-acupuncture and trigger point needling all of which have proven to be incredibly successful at improving movement and function especially in patients with spinal pain. Our post-operative services for patients recovering from operations such as knee and hip replacements have also been very successful - enabling our patients to benefit from rehabilitation and physiotherapy at home. Our improving mobility service aimed at getting our elderly patients who have suffered a decrease in fitness and strength from either a slow decline or a period of hospitalisation has helped many of our patients return to full function and reduce need for help at home.
6. New Addition! - January this year marked the birth of my son Harry! It has been an amazing experience watching him grow up from a tiny immobile little thing, to a crawling and interactive little boy. I can hardly imagine how much he will have changed again by this time next year!!
