We offer a professional, home visit physiotherapy service in Tamworth and the surrounding areas. Wherever you are based around Tamworth we are able to provide a wide range of effective treatment options.
Why home visit physiotherapy?
Our physiotherapy service offers a range of benefits that the usual physiotherapy clinics, which have physical premises, can not provide. Firstly, and for some of our patients this is the most important benefit, there is no burden placed upon you to find extra time in your already busy schedule to travel to a physical location - instead our physiotherapists will come out to you.
Secondly, home based assessment and treatment by a physiotherapist enables them to thoroughly assess how your environment is impacting upon you, your condition and your rehabilitation. We have found this delivers huge benefits to patients who have a neurological condition such as multiple sclerosis, are recovering from a stroke or have recently been in hospital and are beginning the process of recovery.
Lastly, many of our physiotherapy patients are experiencing great difficulty in walking and mobilising. This can often be because of a large operation such as a knee or other joint replacement or perhaps they have recently been taken ill. Because of this they often find leaving the house to be extremely difficult if not impossible, for these patients home visit physiotherapy is an ideal solution.
What will it involve?
Once you have arranged an initial appointment, one of our experienced, chartered physiotherapists will visit you at home. Each physiotherapist comes equipped with a plinth (massage/assessment table) and a bag with other equipment they may need.
The first session of physiotherapy begins with a discussion to analyse how your problem may be affecting you, look at any goals you may have and also to find out about any relevant past medical history. A comprehensive physical examination then follows: a whole host of factors are examined including - muscle movements, gait, postural alignment and balance - this allows the physiotherapist to detect any underlying dysfunction and formulate the most effective treatment plan. Next, the physiotherapist will talk over the diagnosis and treatment options available, it is extremely important you know what the problem is and our physiotherapists always explain things clearly and concisely. Treatment then takes place - there are many options here including spinal manipulation, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, acupuncture and sports massage. Once the session has finished any exercises that you need to complete are detailed and any follow up sessions booked
